Nintendo have confirmed that The Legend of Zelda for Wii U has been delayed to a date outside the 2015 release window.
Eiji Aonuma, the director of the Legend of Zelda series, has given a statement to the fans. He said, “In these last three months, as the team has experienced first-hand the freedom of exploration that hasn’t existed in any Zelda game to date, we have discovered several new possibilities for this game.” He continued, “New ideas have continued to spring forth, and it now feels like we have the potential that exceeds my own expectations.”
Aonuma has also stated that releasing the game in 2015 is not “their number one priority” and instead wants to “make it the most complete and ultimate Zelda game.”
The Legend of Zelda for Wii U, at this time, has no official release window.

It gives me more time to finish all the released Legend of Zelda games. Plus, I’d much rather the developers have more time to perfect the game than release it without the extra content their planning on!
