As we reported earlier this week, Sega are attempting to sue Level-5 (The creators of Professor Layton and Inazuma Eleven) over a patent they hold involving touch screen controls. Sega are seeking 900 Million Yen (£6.8 million) in damages and it has also been revealed that the company want the eight Inazuma Eleven games to be pulled from the market.
Level-5 have released a press statement claiming; “Inazuma Eleven does not violate Sega’s patents”. The company then goes on to note that the first title in the Inazuma Eleven series was released in 2008 whilst Sega’s patent was not filed until 2009.
