A tale as old as time is returning to the big screen as a live action version directed by Bill Condon.
The Walt Disney company, long known for its beautiful fairy tale films, will be adding another live action version of a previously animated movie. The Beauty and the Beast teaser opens with an outside view of the Beast’s enchanted castle. The dark and ominous colors make the feeling of the castle’s sad history leap off the screen.
Favorite characters from the animated version have been confirmed to include Belle, the Beast, Maurice (Belle’s inventive father), Gaston, Lefou (Gaston’s bumbling personal fan club), Mrs. Potts, Lumiere and Plumette (the pretty and flirty French duster). Some may wonder what the Disney company could possibly add to the animation’s story, especially one that seemed so perfect? The addition of a few new songs mixed in with the original animation score and new characters to the story are guaranteed to surprise even the most hardcore Beauty and the Beast fans.
The live action Beauty and the Beast will star Emma Watson as Belle and Dan Stevens as the Beast, and will be released in theaters on March 17, 2017. It seems like an awfully long wait till the release but, if the film is as beautiful as this teaser is, then the wait will be well worth it!
