Yes, you read that title correctly. Maize is a new game from Finish Line Games, the team responsible for Cel Damage HD which was released in 2014. Now venturing onto a new and wholly unique project, Finish Line will be turning to the first-person adventure genre for something that already sounds extremely weird. The trailer above will give you a taste (pun intended) of the cornfield and its absurdity.
The game centers around an incident that happens when two scientists mistakenly make sentient corn due to a misinterpretation of a memo from the U.S. government. That is a hell of a premise, and the trailer only teases at what may happen in the game. Being a first-person adventure title, I’m sure we’ll be discovering how things got to be the way they are. I’m personally pretty excited because I love myself some weirdness in video games, and this looks to be an interesting enough premise that could incite quite a bit of enjoyment. The screenshots that have been released so far also tease a fairly weird entry in the adventure genre.
Maize will be released this fall on Steam, and you can find more information on the game including screenshots at the game’s official website.
