By now, you probably know about a game called Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain just happens to be coming out next year, but what you may not is that you can download its critically acclaimed predecessor on the console of its origin again this month.
As it was announced by Konami, Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots rereleases on the Playstation 3 this Dec. 16th via the Playstation Network download service for $19.99. That’s the same retail price as most new, physical versions of the game and a great deal if you don’t have space on your shelf, but you’re also likely to find a $5, pre-owned copy at your local Gamestop.
Alas, you won’t be playing it with your friends. Its multiplayer, the late Metal Gear Online, will not be coming with the digital download since its shutdown two years ago. The good news here is that series creator Hideo Kojima has expressed his intent on showcasing MGS V’s brand-new online multiplayer at the Video Game Awards later this month.
