Microsoft is rolling out a new feature for their Xbox Live Rewards program, starting April 1st. Called MyPunchcard, this new feature allows Xbox Live Rewards Members to earn rewards by playing games online, specifically arcade games.
According to the post on Major Nelson’s blog, only the most dedicated arcade fans will be able to complete all three of the soon-to-be available Punchcards, and those that manage to achieve that will get a guaranteed spot in an upcoming VIP Exclusive.
Major Nelson also detailed three specific ways members can earn rewards throughout the month of April:
- Play 20 hours of any combination of arcade games, receive a free avatar item
- Purchase any four arcade games for 400 Microsoft Points or more from Xbox LIVE, receive a one month Xbox LIVE Gold membership
- Spend 3200 Microsoft Points on arcade games, receive 800 Microsoft Points in return.
I have to admit, I like the idea of earning stuff in a quid-pro-quo sort of fashion. Getting a month of Xbox Live doesn’t seem like a bad reward either.
If this seems like something you’d be interested in partaking in, make sure you’re a member of Xbox Live Rewards and to mark your calendars for when this service takes off.
