A decent amount of developers are set to join Microsoft’s ID@Xbox indie development program, including some recognizable studios like Crytek and Double Fine.
“It’s been great to see the diversity in developers who are joining the ID@Xbox program,” says Director of ID@Xbox Chris Charla. “Interest in ID@Xbox has been global – from Japan to Finland, developers in more than 50 countries are excited to get their games on Xbox One.”
A full list, which Charla says is ‘far from comprehensive’ has the following developers: Behaviour Interactive, Bongfish, Born Ready, Capy, Comcept, Crytek, Definition 6, Double Fine, Drinkbox, Gaijin Games, Happion Labs, Hidden Path Entertainment, High Voltage Software, InisIron Galaxy, The Men Who Wear Many Hats, Nicalis, Ninja Bee, The Odd Gentlemen, Other Ocean, Panic Button, Slightly Mad Studio, Team 17, Team Colorblind, Vlambeer, Way Forward, Zeboyd Games and Zen Studios.
The first set of games set to launch on Xbox One include Happion Labs’ Energy Hook, Demiurge’s Shoot Many Robots and Iron Galaxy’s Divekick while other games will follow as 2014 rolls on.
“Bottom line, we’ve been blown away by the interest in the ID@Xbox program, and we can’t wait until the games start shipping so players can experience the amazing titles that the independent developers mentioned above (and many, many more!) will be bringing to Xbox One.”
