The Xbox Live Arcade version of indie-fame Minecraft has been confirmed to be releasing as a stand-alone retail title for some time now although we haven’t had a certain release date… until now.
The game is coming to stores on the 28th June and will include a free 48-hour subscription to Xbox Live gold although in regards to the actual content of the game itself it will be exactly identical to its digitally-downloadable brother.
Microsoft is obviously hoping that this will further increase the sales of the game which has already shifted more than five million copies in eight months alone, more than the PC original in the same period of time whilst also claiming the record of “best-selling XBLA game ever”. The total sales of Minecraft across all platforms are above 19 million units sold and we are sure this figure will only increase with the debut of the retail version.
