DICE has announced a date for an upcoming Closed Beta test for the much anticipated Mirror’s Edge Catalyst.
“It’s an exhilarating feeling, being this close to the launch of Mirror’s Edge™ Catalyst,” says Design Director Erik Odeldahl, “The team here at DICE has made a true leap of faith, and with the upcoming Closed Beta we intend to make the landing as smooth as possible.”
‘Frontrunners’ – individuals who have registered to get early access content, news, etc. – will be receiving emails with the Beta code on the same day the test starts. Others who have been selected for the Closed Beta will be getting their codes on the 23rd.
During the test for Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, players will be playing through several main missions in Faith Connor’s story, as well as be trying out side missions, optional content, and even get to play around with the new Social Play feature.
“Mirror’s Edge Catalyst is not only about the story of Faith and her fight against oppression.” Explains Odeldahl, “We’ve also designed the city of Glass as an opportunity for you to connect with friends and compare skills with other Runners.”
Players who won’t get the chance to participate in the Closed Beta can still keep an eye on goings-on by signing up for the Beta Page on the official website as community members upload content.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC via Origin on May 24th, and the Closed Beta test will be starting on the 22nd of this month.
