Fans of Mirror’s Edge have faith that a sequel would come for almost a decade now. The time for one’s finally come and it’s happening next year. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst, as it’s now known, is due this February 23rd, 2016 for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC as it was announced at EA’s E3 press conference two years after its initial announcement.
Developed by DICE as was its original 2008 predecessor, Catalyst will run on the studio’s Frostbite engine (Battlefield 4, Star Wars: Battlefront) and feature “no levels,” and “no loading screens” in hopes of maintaining the experience of a completely seamless open-world in which you can truly free-roam.

Catalyst takes place several years prior to Mirror’s Edge and sees the origin of series protagonist Faith during her initial tenure as a runner, one of her world’s information couriers, amidst the rise of the city’s Orwellian police state.
