Far Cry 3 is just three months away and Ubisoft would like those pre-orders higher than, I imagine, they already are. As such, it’s over to GameStop to net the pre-order bonus that could send those pre-order figures sky high. Said pre-order bonus is the “Monkey Business” pack which offers up “two new ways to humiliate your friends” in multiplayer and “4 new missions” in the single-player.
The multiplayer bonuses aren’t detailed in the trailer but the single player missions are. They involve being introduced to a character called Hurk who seems to have a habit of strapping bombs to monkeys. Yes, that does seem darkly light-hearted and tonally out of place for Far Cry 3, why’d you ask?
Also, off-putting? The narration provided to us by the guy responsible for The Nasty-Ass Honey Badger video. Now, I like that video as much as the next guy, but why is he the person you’re using to advertise the DLC for your serious First Person Shooter (well, as serious as a game where you shoot tigers in the face can get)? And the way that he just ceaselessly mocks the game and its mechanics? Just, no!
Anyways, Far Cry 3 hits stores on November 29th for Europe and December 2nd for America. And if you really want the Monkey Business DLC but don’t want to, or can’t go to, GameStop; then you’ll be pleased to know that it’s also included in the Insane Edition of the game. Exploding monkeys for everyone!
