Today’s Nintendo Direct has confirmed the rumor of Monster Hunter Cross being given a Western release.
The 3DS game will be given a new title of Monster Hunter Generations. Capcom’s Monster Hunter series lately has been strictly on Nintendo consoles and now the latest one will finally be reaching the Western gaming world. According to the brief trailer revealed in the Direct and posted on Nintendo’s YouTube channel, Monster Hunter Generations will offer new weapons, monsters and serious threats. As a special treat a collaboration between Monster Hunter and the Fire Emblem series is happening with armor and weapons based on Marth, which will be available to craft in the game.
Those hunters who have been playing Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will have the option of using their save data in Generations and will obtain bonus content for doing so. However, it is unclear if all of the save data from MH 4 U such as armor, weapons, items, Hunting Rank, completed quests will be added into Monster Hunter Generations. To promote the MH series, Nintendo and Capcom are offering MH 4 U at an extra special price of $19.99 in the eShop for the next 48 hours.
Monster Hunter Generations is scheduled to launch sometime in Summer 2016. Hopefully Nintendo and Capcom will be releasing further information regarding the ability to use MH 4 U save data as well as the new monsters and storyline in the near future.
