Monster Hunters in Japan are very happy today because Capcom announced Monster Hunter XX (pronounced Double Cross) will be released on the Nintendo Switch.
Gamers familiar with the series will understand the significance of being able to play a Monster Hunter game on a portable handheld and also have the capability to enjoy the gameplay on a television screen. The past few installments of the franchise have been tied to Nintendo’s 3DS. With this announcement of MH being released on the Switch, comes a question of – is the Switch meant to replace the 3DS completely? It is already known that the 3DS still has life left in it, however it cannot be completely denied that the 3DS systems seem to be fading out.
Monster Hunter XX is the type of game that may cause Japanese players on the fence about the Switch to make a decision to purchase the latest Nintendo system. Not much information has been given yet. The game’s release window, the weapons and armor and which areas are to be included have yet to be announced. Not to mention the question of which monsters will be returning and which new ones will be added has yet to be answered.
No doubt that Capcom will be answering these questions sometime soon. And when the company does, make sure to check back at BagoGames to find out the latest MH news.
