It’s been a long time since we heard anything about Mortal Kombat X hitting Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 anytime soon. As it turns out, the 360 and PS3 aren’t getting it – not anymore, anyway.
In an official update to its message boards, Warner Bros. Interactive announced that it didn’t feel the game met the visual standards set on newer versions. If you pre-ordered the game on PS3 or 360, Warner Bros. tells fans that they should see them or their local retailers for a full refund.
Their full statement reads as follows:
“After months of development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has come to the regrettable conclusion that we cannot release Mortal Kombat X for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Please know our teams worked diligently to meet the quality standards set by the current-gen versions of the game. We were not able to get the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions to the quality expected of a Mortal Kombat game and are very sorry for not being able to deliver the products as originally planned.”
“If you pre-ordered Mortal Kombat X for PS3 or Xbox 360, please go to the retail location where you pre-ordered the game and you will receive a full refund.”
Mortal Kombat X saw release this April for Playstation 4, Xbox One, and PC while its last-gen versions were delayed indefinitely this past March. We thought that X was just about everything fans could want out of a great Mortal Kombat, but we sure did miss Challenge Tower and 2v2 mode.
