Mulaka, the 3D action-adventure game from Lienzo has released a “thank you” trailer for its community. It is just over a minute long. While the game’s reception from our very own Chris Wright wasn’t so positive, many critics loved the game. The trailer takes viewers through the sights and sounds of Mulaka with quotes and scores from several outlets. GameSpot refers to it as “something more than a typical adventure game”. And LevelUp points out that you will “stop more than once to admire the glorious scenery”. Game Reviews has gone so far to say that this is a game no one should miss.
It Mulaka “thank you” trailer begins with a quote from the team at Lienzo
“To all our faithful fans, in this arduous and challenging path, you were always our motivation to keep pushing forward. To everyone who has shared this amazing journey with us, you have our deepest and most sincere appreciation”.
Mulaka sees players controlling a Tarahumara Shaman, one of the most powerful tribes in Northern Mexico. The tribe thrives in Mexico to this day. Heated hand-to-hand combat takes place with creatures pulled from the region’s mythology. The game was designed with the help of the tribe’s leaders. However, the game is rated teen for the blood and violence it portrays. It attempts to capture the essence of their culture. Their website states, “A portion of Mulaka’s earnings will be donated for the strengthening of the culture and the preservation of the Sierra Tarahumara”.
Mulaka is out for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. It retails for $19.99.
Also, the soundtrack for the game is available on YouTube and SoundCloud.
Lienzo is a video game development studio in Chihuahua, Mexico. They aim to create experiences that live up to the quality standard of the industry. Ahead of the game’s release, they created a three-part video series about the Tarahumara culture.
