Microsoft may be developing an Xbox based music service, which might have light shed upon it at E3 according to job listings on its website.
Based in Paris, the listings are for “Team Xbox Live Music”, also sometimes known as “Xbox Live Paris” and describes the job (as translated to English) by stating that the project revolves around “building a massive catalog of music content from multiple vendors and development of innovative user interfaces for music consumption on Xbox, Windows, mobile phones and the web.” In job advertisements posted in March, Musiwave also included similar terminology. Musiwave is owned by Microsoft and previously focused on ringtone services for most of the globe including Africa, Australia, Europe and New Zealand. It was later made to change direction the Zune Marketplace.
The new music feature for the Xbox seems to tentatively be entitled “Xbox Music Centre” as seen on Monster with other clues via LinkedIn.
