Earlier today in the NACON Connect, the company announced many projects and their progress. I don’t believe that many viewers had an idea of the depth of the games that were to be shown off. Here is the full Connect, but I’ll break down some of the more interesting titles to come.
Halloween is coming early for fans of holiday with two different titles in the pipeline. The first, Werewolf: The Apocalypse – Earthblood, based on the World of Darkness, has to be one of the more interesting titles of theirs. This game is a brawler where you focus on Werewolf kicking ass of the evil corporation, Endron. You’ll get to transform February 4 2021 on the PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X and PC.
The second horror game, which sadly doesn’t have a release date is Big Bad Wolf’s Vampire: The Masquerade – Swansong. All we got to see was the catchy trailer, which shows off a very story driven RPG. But it definitely looks like a title to keep your eye on in the future.
From the studio Spiders, it looks like we are getting an action RPG that takes place in an alternate history. Steelrising takes place in Paris during the French Revolution and King Louis XVI’s army is a little different than what we were taught. You will play as Aegis, attempting to change the course of history and correct the path.
There were two racing games showcased as well. RiMS Racing from RaceWard Studios will be a motorcycle racing simulation game. Seeing as the studio has been making these types of games for over twenty years it will be interesting to see how they revolutionize this game. And finally a new Test Drive is in the works. Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown from KT Racing will bring back the popular racing sim. You goal will be to compete in the Solar Crown which is a mysterious competition that will allow you raise your clout in the community. More race wins, more popularity.
For fans of Tim Burton’s unique look, Cyanide and Leikir is bringing an all new genre to NACON in the form of their first roguelike game. Rogue Lords, has an interesting take on religion, you play as the devil, fighting the forces of good on Earth in 17th century England. Richard Garfield, co-creator of Magic: The Gathering, has dipped his hands into the next game. Roguebook is a deck builder from the studio that brought you Faeria, Abrakam. This title has plenty of clout to go around and it will be interesting to see how it differs from what inspired it.
That is a lot to take in from this up and coming publisher. There are many interesting titles in the pipeline and it is nice to see some more horror games on the horizon, one in very near future. Tell us what you thought of the presentation, is there a particular game you are looking forward to?
