EA has released a trailer for their third expansion pack for Battlefield 4, Naval Strike. As the name suggests, this new DLC will be heavily focused on naval combat with much of the action taking place over the water. This is emphasised by Naval Strike’s new game mode Carrier Strike, which requires each team to destroy the enemy teams aircraft carrier. Developers of the DLC have described Carrier Strike as a homage to the Titan mode from Battlefield 2142.
On top of the new game mode Naval Strike will also add many other new features including 4 brand new maps set in the South China Sea: Lost Islands, Nansha Strike, Wave Breaker, and Operation Mortar. 5 new weapons are also in the expansion as are 11 new assignments, 2 new gadgets and 2 new vehicles. Of the gadgets, the most interesting is the Engineer’s AA mine, a single use launcher that comes with a homing surface to air missile. The vehicles will add a lot to the game too, with the Hovercraft giving players speed and flexibility whilst the Old Canon offers a very powerful weapon emplacement.
Naval Strikes is set to release on April 8 for all players but will be available from March 25 for Battlefield 4 Premium members.
