Japan will soon be getting its hands on Dissidia Final Fantasy in arcades, and the trailer above showcases plenty of reasons to hope that this comes to the West. The arcade game is a reboot of the PlayStation Portable titles of the same name but is more focused on action, as opposed to the RPG elements that were present in the PSP versions.
Dissidia Final Fantasy is being developed by Team Ninja, the team behind the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden series. As the trailer shows, a multitude of characters from other Final Fantasy titles will be appearing as playable characters, including Cloud from Final Fantasy VII and Lightning from Final Fantasy XIII. The game will maintain the aesthetics of the previous Dissidia games, and play similarly – minus the RPG components.
Currently, Dissidia Final Fantasy is only set to release November 26th, 2015 for arcades in Japan, but a PS4 port has been discussed as a possibility after the release of the arcade version.
