Akira Toriyama has announced (via Famitsu and Kotaku) that there will be a new Dragon Ball series releasing in July this year.
The new series will be called Dragon Ball Super and it will take place after Goku defeated Kid Buu. Dragon Ball fans will be pleased to know that Akira Toriyama, the original writer of previous Dragon Ball series, is writing the new one.
Since the release of the last series, Dragon Ball GT in 1997, Dragon Ball has spawned multiple video games, animated features, and a live action movie.
Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection F is scheduled for release in North American theatres this summer.
