Techland and WB Games are gearing up for the release of Dying Light; the spiritual successor to the original Dead Island. This week they’ve released a story trailer (below) and an intro cinematic trailer (above).
In the story trailer, you’ll be introduced to Kyle Crane who is an undercover operative that has infiltrated the quarantine zone. He is quickly thrust into a situation where factions are fighting, chaos is everywhere, and decisions have to be made for “the greater good”.
The opening cinematics will give players some insight into the events which set the story in motion. The game takes place in the city of Harran which is the main location of the “mysterious” outbreak. The world is watching from afar with little of no way to help the inhabitants of Harran. From here a balance of power ensues between the Defense Minister of Harran and the privately humanitarian group, the Global Relief Effort.
Dying Light is set to release on PC, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 on January 27.
