Nathan Drake’s last outing will have to wait as we’ve learned earlier in the month, but a recent retail listing might’ve put the game almost exactly a year from now. Painful, we know.
The video game retailer’s web page for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End (that’s still available for pre-order too) has pegged the game for a March 31st, 2016 release. That’s a ways off from developer Naughty Dog’s original Quarter 4 release window for the game, which was expected to be a holiday-seller for the Playstation 4 sometime this November.
This wouldn’t be the first tine that a store’s leaked a release date ahead of schedule, nor would it be the first to possibly be changed. The Microsoft Store once pegged the release date for Batman: Arkham Knight for February. The game, as we’ve known from the past few months, has been moved up twice – once for June 2nd and now June 23rd. We’ll just have to see if Uncharted’s new date sticks until next spring.
As Gamestop describes the game, Uncharted 4‘s set a couple of years after the events of Uncharted 3 and forces adventurer Nathan Drake back into a world of thieves and cutthroats in search of “a fabled pirate treasure” and reunites him with his brother, Sam Drake, and ultimately test his limits and threaten everyone close to him. Again.
But is March ’16 still too long to wait? Maybe the next twelve months will burn by faster than we think.
