Electronic Arts announced that it will release a new single-player expansion for Dead Space 2 called “Severed”. The new pack adds two stand-alone chapters in the single player campaign. This time around, the player will take the role of Gabe Weller, a security guard stationed on the Sprawl station. Most will remember Gabe Weller as a character from Dead Space Extraction. The game will also feature Dead Space Extraction alumni Lexine Murdock. The story will run parallel to Isaac Clarke’s story but will follow Gabe’s harrowing survival from the necromorph outbreak that has engulfed the sprawl station of Titan.
Electronic Arts has neither set a price or a date for release of the expansion. But the excitement among veteran Dead Space players like myself is ripe. The more content the better.
