You may have thought before reading this that you’d seen everything when it came to a World War II shooter. The basics are usually pretty simple and involve the allies whooping some Nazi butt and taking names. But in this new Half-Life 2 Mod called Dino D Day, you’ll find an odd pairing of allies in this new twist on history. In Dino D-Day you’ll have the choice to either play the traditional Allies and battle Hitler or you can opt to play the Nazi’s and, uh, their dinosaur friends?
Yes folks. I did indeed say Nazi’s and Dinosaurs together. Let’s put it this way. Imagine if Jurassic Park was real and now instead of being created by an idealistic old man who dreams of children petting Raptors, the creator is Hitler and instead of creating dinosaurs to attract tourists he plans to use them as war machines. Have I lost you yet? I know it sounds real freaky to think that Nazi’s could re-create the dinosaurs but historically speaking the Nazi’s were at the forefront of some crazy scientific breakthroughs, such as the atomic bomb and rocket propelled planes. Heck, they even created the modern day highway system. So is it really that far off to imagine Hitler’s Army bio-engineering Dino’s for the sole purpose of war?
The game is a multiplayer online game. It features six classes for players who choose to be an Allied character and three human class choices and three dinosaur class choices for players who choose to be an Axis character. The game will be very similar to past Half Life 2 Mods and will be a brawl or deathmatch style game just this time it’s bullets versus teeth and who ever still stands is the victor.
The game will be released exclusively on steam on April 8th. Until then here’s a trailer for the upcoming Dino Nazi action you’ll find only in Dino D-Day.
