Splinter Cell: Blacklist, which will be the most recent entry into the long running franchise, may be coming to current-gen systems in a couple of months, but that doesn’t mean Ubisoft can settle down and take some time off before the next one. In fact, Splinter Cell is such a successful series for the company that they already have plans in the making for Splinter Cell on the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
Speaking to Arabic Gamers, Blacklist art director Scott Lee confirmed that Sam Fisher will be returning when those fancy next-gen consoles are out and about.
“Sam Fisher and Splinter Cell is a big and very important franchise for Ubisoft, and yes they do support the franchise,” said Lee. “Obviously we’re working very hard on current-gen systems and we’re super excited that we’re going to be across all platforms.
“For next-gen there are a lot of plans in the works, obviously we can’t talk about that at the moment but I definitely look forward to seeing Sam in new adventures, bigger and better as we go along.”
Meanwhile, back here in the present, Splinter Cell: Blacklist is set to release on August 20th (August 23rd in Europe).
