Coming to the Wii U soon is Nintendo Land which will feature 12 attractions within its theme park title including Animal Crossing Sweet Day, Donkey Kong’s Crash Course, Takamura’s Ninja Castle, The Legend of Zelda: Battle Quest, Luigi’s Ghost Mansion and more! Players will be able to use their Miis to traverse the theme park and mini-games can be played with Wii remotes and the GamePad.
One mini-game demonstrated a fair bit during the conference was Luigi’s Ghost Mansion wherein 4 players using the Wii remotes have to search for a ghost, controlled by the player with the GamePad. The ghost hunters cannot see the ghost on the TV but the GamePad user can see all the players on the GP’s screen. Hunters will be able to detect the ghost by vibrations of the remote and will need to shine a flashlight in the direction they believe the ghost is in. They have to be careful about how much battery power they consume though, as it’s finite. If the ghost attacks a player, that player’s avatar will faint and he/she will need to be revived by teammates. Those teammates will need to shine their lights on their fallen friend but this eats up battery power and leaves them vulnerable to attack. Spooky!
