Well, Nintendo NX is still a codename and hasn’t actually been shown off yet in any detail, but that hasn’t stopped some games from attaching a logo for the mystery system to their trailers. Rise: Race the Future is an upcoming racing game that looks to be coming to a plethora of consoles in Winter 2016. One of those consoles it is attached to is the Nintendo NX, Nintendo’s successor to the Wii U.
The picture above is from the end of the trailer where it lists all the platforms it will be released on. The NX has remained largely a mystery, and it seems unlikely that the console will ship this year due to it skipping a presence at E3 completely. Most speculation points to an early 2017 release, so maybe Rise will just be a launch game for NX, whenever it launches.
This is the first time the logo has appeared on any game marketing material, which is why it is worth noting, especially since the NX is technically just a codename. That being said, I like the logo and am growing accustomed to the codename possibly being the console’s actual name.
As for Rise: Race the Future, it looks neat with an emphasis on style and design of the cars. There could definitely be something there, but the trailer only really shows a tease of how much detail is going into each car.
Rise: Race the Future will release in Winter 2016, but the NX still has no official release date. This is the first 3rd party game to be confirmed for the NX, with Dragon Quest XI being rumored to be coming as well.
