Ever since the Switch has been revealed questions and rumors are swirling faster than before. It is probable that Nintendo decided to announce the 2017 video to let prospective buyers and shareholders know they intend to show more about the console months before it releases. Reggie Fils-Aime, the President of Nintendo of North America, states in a Switch Press Release: “Nintendo Switch allows gamers the freedom to play however they like… It gives game developers new abilities to bring their creative visions to life by opening up the concept of gaming without boundaries.” So far it seems that Nintendo’s intention is to draw third-party developers by making the system as versatile as possible to accommodate as many developers as they can to improve upon the lack of support for the Wii U.
The Switch’s Press Release states “Full game demonstrations, the list of launch window titles, as well as launch date, price, product configuration and related specifics, will be shown and announced prior to the March launch”. This could refer to the Switch 2017 Presentation that is being shown after the Christmas season. No official content that will be included in the video has been announced yet.
