According to a recent interview, Shigeru Miyamoto has said that Nintendo has already started pitching around ideas for future generations of handhelds..
“I really feel like I’m satisfied with the 3DS hardware as it is. I feel like it’s the best for this generation,” he told IGN when quizzed on the recent 3DS XL rumor.
“What we’re thinking about right now is probably going to be for a future generation of handheld,” he went on to reveal.
IGN says that Miyamoto did emphasize that there is plenty to still be done with the 3DS and 3D gaming. He also dismissed the suggestion of a revised 3DS with a built-in second analogue Circle Pad.
