It hardly seems an entire decade since the wondrous game Okami was first released in Japan. In honor of the tenth anniversary, Capcom has included an Okami armor and weapon set for Felynes in Monster Hunter Generations.
Okami as a game is groundbreaking for the smooth paint-like animation that flowed as if being painted on screen. The memorable characters, bitter-sweet story and inclusion of Japanese mythology has all made Okami a favorite among many JRPG fans. It seems likely that the Amaterasu Felyne armor/ weapon is to replace the lack of the Fairy Tail collaboration that was part of the Japanese version of Monster Hunter Generations which is called Monster Hunter Cross. In MH Cross, players had the opportunity to craft the Happy armor/weapon set for their Felynes. Sadly the anime cross-overs in the past few Monster Hunter games have not made it in the Western ports.
In Generations, players have two Felyne options: for the Felyne to be the usual AI companion or to take control over their kitty hunters in Prowler Mode. Capcom previously announced a Fire Emblem gear set which is based on the Marth character.
