A teaser trailer for Outlast 2 has been released, ensuring that players know ahead of time what they will be playing next Halloween. The sequel to the survival horror game, Outlast, will be haunting players again in Fall 2016. It will be developed by Red Barrels Games.
As far as teaser trailers go, it isn’t much to go on, but at the same time there is room for speculation. The description on the YouTube trailer talks about testing players’ faith, citing that going insane might be “the only sane thing to do.” Knowing the messed up moments of Outlast and its DLC, it seems likely that the game is going to be pushing more envelopes as far as being uncomfortable goes, and likely using religion as a means to do so. The teaser also ends with a night vision setting, so the prevalence of that green light in the first game will likely be making an appearance.
We’ll see what happens, though, when Outlast 2 comes out in Fall 2016.
