Outlast is an upcoming Indie survival horror game developed by a new team, Red Barrels. The team is made up of industry veterans from both Ubisoft and Naughty Dog.
The survival horror genre has seen some success from the Indie scene over the past couple of years, with titles like Slender and Amnesia adequately scaring the pants off of gamers around the world. Outlast has you playing as a journalist who goes to investigate Mount Massive Asylum, an asylum for the criminally insane. Mount Massive has been shut down for years, but has recently been purchased by the Murkoff Corporation. Your character, Miles, decides to break into the asylum to try and find out what the corporation is up to. Snooping around an abandoned insane asylum that has recently been purchased by a mega corporation just seems like a swell idea, so I’m sure absolutely nothing will go wrong. Of course, I have been wrong before. Check out the teaser trailer above and let us know what you think in the comments. Outlast is due to release on PC next year.
