Today Square Enix hosted the Final Fantasy XV Active Time Report Stream at Pax Prime. Game Director, Hajime Tabata, and Marketing Manager, Akio Oofuji, shared a lot of info about the game.
- Release year officially confirmed for 2016. A major event will be held in March 2016 where the full date will be revealed.
- Video shown of the following work in progress for ladder climbing, enemy features, movement features, and combat features. Among this footage was combat with pistols, magic, and daggers.
- Chocobo Ranch, Altissia, and Hammerhead Shop concept art was shown. Players will be able to explore Altissia. The Hammerhead shop was hinted to belong to certain known person in the series.
- Time will always be flowing, and the player can choose when to make camp with the party. The car the party will travel around with is called The Regalia.
- Eidolons play an important role in the story since they created the world.
- New town/outpost revealed called Khaim. Here, a boat can be obtained that can take the party to Alcordo. Boat travel will be done seamlessly in the world via a sequence.
- Cars will have left hand steering. You can drive the car yourself or you can let Ignis autodrive. You can take also control of the car while Ignis is driving.
- The car can run out of gasoline. You can push the car to a gas station to fill it up, but you can also get some kind of help from people around you.
- There will be three different camera angles available while driving: First Person, Tail View, and Scenic View.
- You can pull over, get out of the car, and explore wherever you want. But Auto-park zones exist where you can park your car or get it delivered to you for a fee as well.
- Extended version of the first video shown with added footage of environments, ragdoll physics, and a Malboro.
- Video letter shown of Swedish developer Avalanche Studios, hinting a collaboration of some kind between themselves and Square Enix.
