The Playstation Blog revealed the new official box art for Sony’s upcoming post-apocalyptic release Resistance 3. Designed by the British artist Olly Moss, the official box strives to escape mediocrity and render a more appealing design. The box art features a dark red back drop covered over by a Chimeran Skull (the alien race that attacked earth) and to change things up the artist stylized the skyline of New York City to look like the skull’s teeth. Check out the official box art for Sony’s Resistance 3 below.
It should be noted that Sony is taking a more theatrical approach with their marketing of Resistance 3. I know when I first saw the trailer for resistance 3 I thought blockbuster movie. Now, I don’t know if Sony plans to make yet another Alien based Scifi-Thriller involving the Chimeran’s invading earth and occupying it but I can think of another great Sony film that just came out that would be a great marketing fit for Resistance 3. It turns out that starting June 14th, Sony has announced that specially marked Blu-Ray Disc copies of their scifi-action movie Battle: Los Angeles will include a half-hour long single player demo of Resistance 3 and will be playable on the PS3. This news should really please a lot of Resistance fans just chomping at the bits to play the game but who may also really liked the move Battle: Los Angeles.
We anticipate more news will come as we get closer to the big E3 reveal of Resistance 3. Don’t forget the game comes out on September 6, 2011 exclusively for the PS3.
