After his grand debut in Marvel’s The Avengers, there’s a lot of questions about how much more of Hawkeye we’ll get in the future. It seems natural that he’ll be returning to 2015’s Avengers: Age of Ultron, but will the character make an appearance anywhere outside the ensemble films? Actor Jeremy Renner seems to be hinting that he’ll be donning the bow and arrow for another Marvel film after the next Avengers movie. The potential target seems to be Captain America 3 at least according to Renner from an interview with Collider.
There are rumblings of Captain America 3…I don’t know what’s going to happen there. I’ve got to find the time, man. [Laughs] I’m trying to stay home and I can’t.
Renner already has a full plate with his next films including Kill the Messenger, Mission Impossible 5 and a new entry in the Bourne franchise. So I suppose the likeliness of his character appearing in the film depends entirely on his schedule. If it winds up being true, however, it’d certainly be a welcome sight to see some more Avengers pairing up for specific films or even just having a brief cameo at the very least. We’ll know the truth when Captain America 3 debuts in theaters on May 6, 2016.
