The popular anime series Psycho-Pass was adapted into a visual novel for Japan entitled Psycho-Pass: Madatory Happiness. Released last year for Xbox One and coming in March for PlayStation 4 and Vita in Japan, the visual novel has now also been announced to be coming to western shores later this year. Unfortunately, if you are an Xbox One owner, that is the one version of the game that NIS America will not be localizing. PS4 and Vita owners can look forward to the game, as well as PC owners.
The PC version of the game has not been formally announced, but a trailer released alongside the localization announcement details a Steam logo, indicating that the visual novel will be coming to PC. A PC release has not been announced for Japan either. This isn’t really much of a surprise though, as the visual novel market on Steam is huge and a Psycho-Pass game would fit right at home there.
The game will not feature English voice actors, instead retaining its Japanese cast and having English text. Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness will also receive physical and digital releases for PS4 and Vita when it is released, while the PC version will be exclusively digital.
Psycho-Pass: Mandatory Happiness will release in North America in Fall 2016 for PS4, Vita, and PC.
