Sony has announced that a Ratchet & Clank HD collection will be released August 28, alongside the God of War, and inFamous collections.
Associate Product Marketing Manager, Cristian Cardona announced this news on Playstation.com earlier today, noting Sony’s stance on releasing these collections, and future ones going forward.
“We’re officially introducing our Collections line with these releases on August 28th,” explains Cardona. “Over the years we’ve had all sorts of great deals come your way and moving forward, this is how we plan on presenting them to our consumers.”
“From August 28th on out, you’ll be able to easily spot these classic installments at retailers, as well as on the PlayStation Store, and know that you’ll be getting the greatest PlayStation has to offer — at the best prices around!”
The Ratchet & Clank HD collection will feature the original trilogy released on the PlayStation 2, and will be digitally remastered in 1080p.
It is worthwhile to note, however, the absence of the fourth game released on the PlayStation 2, Ratchet Deadlocked. There has been no mention of the game being re-released. It is possible Sony sees the game as a spin-off, rather than a sequel to the franchise.
