Chloë Grace Moretz is rumored to be the frontrunner for the role of Jean Grey in X-Men: Apocalypse, according to TheWrap.
Elle Fanning, Hailee Steinfeld and Chloë Grace Moretz are currently the actors who have been linked with the role in Bryan Singer’s next instalment in the X-Men franchise, but TheWrap has claimed an insider source has told them that Moretz and Fanning have recently met with the director in the past few weeks.
Three actors — Ben Hardy, Charlie Rowe and Timothee Chalamet — have been rumored for the role of Cyclops, with 20th Century Fox refusing to comment on both roles at this moment in time.
Bryan Singer offered a new direction for the franchise following the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past earlier this year, and it’s expected that both Jean Grey and Cyclops are to have more significant roles in X-Men: Apocalypse and subsequent X-Men films.
Starring Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy, X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for release in the U.S. on May 18th, 2016.
