Movie website Deadline has claimed that Harrison Ford’s Han Solo character ”has a gigantic role in the first of the next three films”. This latest rumour comes after months of speculation over who will be cast in the upcoming Star Wars movie. Disney and director J.J. Abrams have been incredibly tight lipped on the issue so far, but that may be about to change.
Today, Disney are holding a big table read with the cast in London so we should be getting an official cast confirmation very soon (May the 4th maybe?). We already know that Mark Hamil is in London so it seems likely that the three original stars will be reprising their roles. Billy Dee Williams’ Lando Calrissian and Peter Mayhew’s Chewbacca are also rumoured to be returning alongside C-3PO and R2-D2.
In terms of new characters we know that Adam Diver in on board to play one of the movie’s villains. Oscar Issac from the Coen Brothers’ film Inside Llewyn Davis and John Boyega from the British comedy Attack The Block are also rumoured to have won roles in the film. Stay tuned to Bagogames and we’ll bring you more news and rumours as they appear.
