Nintendo is releasing a Sea Green 2DS on June 6 and it will be sold for $130. The front and back is white while the D-pad, buttons and stylus are a sea foam green color. The 2DS has the capability to play both DS and 3DS games.
It is a more economical option than the 3DS, especially for gamers who don’t want the 3D option for their games. The tablet-like design of the 2DS is comfortable for long gaming sessions and a sleep-mode button can save power while collecting StreetPass tags. Do you like this new color option? Leave a comment and tell us if you have a 2DS or if you prefer the 3DS.
I just recently got a 2DS, though I did buy the 3DS when it first came out. I like aspects of both. The 3DS’ ability to fold up is an advantage. The 2DS’ sleep button is pretty cool, though. The 2DS takes a bit of getting used to because of how the buttons are placed, but I really like it. It’s a great option for a better price than the 3DS. You do have to get a carrying case, though, because I would imagine it gets scratched up if you’re not careful with it.
I’d rather stick with the Electric Blue color, though. I like green, but I like the blue 2DS better. And I’d prefer a black design for the buttons and back–I’m thinking the white will show signs of wear much more easily.
I have the original 3DS in Midnight Purple but considered the 3DS XL Disney version. It’s all white with golden Mickey sympols on the top and Disney’s Magical World logo on it. I’m a HUGE Walt Disney fan and to see a Disney/ Nintendo cross over for a console is just my style. But I’m worried about the white too. Although I’m OCD when it comes to my gaming equipment and always wash my hands before touching anything, the white still could age over time.
A two-toned sky blue with sea green accents would be groovy. Maybe in the future Nintendo will offer customizable consoles! Offering several color options and Approved images. Imagine getting a 3DS XL in your favorite color and then adding a beloved character!
