SEGA has announced that it will be coming back to PAX with Sonic Mania, Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, Endless Space 2, and Motorsport Manager at their booth.
Sonic the Hedgehog speeds back into Seattle with playable demos of Sonic Mania and Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice. Sonic Boom: Fire and Ice is a 3DS exclusive that features the characters with both fire and ice elemental powers. In the game, you can switch between Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy and Sticks at any point, and each character has their own weapon or mechanic within the levels. Amy has her hammer, Tails can fly, Stick has her boomerang, and Knuckles can dig underground. The game will have single player and multiplayer (competitive) modes. The game releases on September 27th for North America and September 30th for Europe. Sonic Mania features the classic Sonic we loved back in the Genesis/Megadrive/CD era. The game pays homage to previous games in the series as well as including completely new zones such as Studiopolis Zone. You can also play as Sonic, Tails, or Knuckles in the game. Sonic Mania releases sometime in Spring 2017 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
In Relic Entertainment’s next strategy game, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III, war ensues as a “catastrophic weapon” is found on a new world called Acheron. According to the game’s Steam page, players can choose 3 different factions as “the Imperial Knight (Space Marine), the clattering Gorkanaut (Ork), or the haunting Wraithknight (Eldar)” and no faction is either right or wrong. The title will feature super abilities that can cause calamity to your foes. The Space Marin can use Orbital Bombardment, the Eldar has Eldritch Storm and the Ork uses Rokks. The game will release in 2017 for PC. SEGA are also showing off Endless Space 2, a 4X space-strategy game developed by Amplitude Studios. It will have eight factions, which individually have their own storyline, spaceships, heroes, technologies, and asymmetrical gameplay” Endless Space 2 is scheduled to launch sometime this year.
However, if Sonic and strategy games aren’t your taste and you like motorsports, you can try Motorsport Manager. In the game, you are a manager of a motorsport team as you hire new racers, build cars, and make decisions during races. The game is slated to come out sometime next year.
If you’re going to PAX, are you excited to try any of these games out? Let us know in the comments below!
