We’ve learned today that Bethesda will be releasing the Collector’s Edition of their new epic RPG The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim alongside the regular version on November 11, 2011 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC, and that the Collector’s Edition will be packed with goodies and must-have collectibles for the most die-hard fans of the Elder Scrolls franchise.
When we delved into the details of the Skyrim Collector’s Edition we were at first surprised by the $149.99 price tag but after looking at some of the items this price might just be justified. So, what will you find in the box when you order the Skyrim Collector’s Edition, you ask? First you’ll spot a 12″ tall dragon statue, secondly a really snazzy art book, and then a DVD that takes you behind the scenes of the making of The Elder Scrolls V. Last but not least, the Collector’s Edition includes a huge cloth map for your wall or for neighborhood conquest or something, we’re not really sure what it’s for, but it’s huge!
Here are more detailed Specs of the Skyrim Collector’s Edition:
- PVC statue of the dragon, Alduin the World Eater
- 200-page, hardbound art book
- “Making of Skyrim” DVD
- “Skyrim” game disc
- Huge Cloth map
So there you have it, a modestly priced (Cough) Collector’s Edition releasing alongside with the regular edition. Now we know that a price tag of 149.99 might price out a lot of younger gamers but we are pretty sure it will please the most die hard fans of Elder Scroll who just can’t wait to have 12″ tall dragon statue in their rooms, we mean in their man caves.
How do you guys feel about the price tag? Is too high for the average gamer? What would you have liked to see in the Skyrim Collectors edition? Comment below.
Check out Russ’s calculation’s over at MTV.com as he compares the amount of Whopper Junior’s you could buy for the price of each individual item. It’s a very uncanny analysis but put’s the price tag in prospective.
