So we all heard about Smart Glass at Microsoft’s press conference. They mentioned a few details about the tech, but now we can offer more on it after Phil Spencer, Corporate VP of Microsoft Studios was quoted stating:
“..you’re even going to see situations like with Ascend, where there’s actually gameplay that happens on the phone, even when you’re away from your television and that interacts back with the online game that’s happening. So I think you’ll see information sharing, context sharing while you’re in the room, with video and with games, as well as gameplay happening in more distributed environments.”
It was also mentioned that all Xbox first party games will implement some sort of Smart Glass features for Players. I doubt that there will be any games released that require the Smart Glass tech, but stranger things have happened.
A lot of mixed reviews surround the Smart Glass tech. In my own opinion I think they are trying to have a competeing feature against the Nintendo WiiU. But the question is will it have any impact on it?
Below is a trailer of the Smart Glass in action.
