It was earlier this summer that Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice got announced out of nowhere by SEGA and now it’s seemingly out of nowhere once again that it’s been delayed to ’16.
The company posted an update on the game to their blog and what fans should make of the situation. Nonetheless, it assures fans that the side-scrolling platformer will be “be ready when it’s ready.”
In order to make sure the game has the time and polish needed, we’re moving it out into 2016. No exact window from us, just yet – it’ll be ready when it’s ready!
In the grand scheme of things, while the downside is that you won’t be playing the game this year, the upside is that what you’ll play next year, and what fans will continue to play for years after they pick up the game, will be a stronger, more enjoyable experience.
We think that’s important, not just for this one game, but for all future Sonic titles.
Fire & Ice will be the third game under the Sonic Boom umbrella following last year’s Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric on Wii U and Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal for 3DS.
When it does hit next year, Sonic Boom: Fire & Ice will be exclusive to the Nintendo 3DS. Why not pass the time and give a comment below?
Good, bad, or otherwise, a Sonic game is always sure to make a headline. We’ll see what kind Fire & Ice makes next year.
