We told you yesterday that this week was going to be full of PlayStation news and we meant it! As reported earlier this month Sony are rumoured to be revealing their next generation home console this Wednesday at a special event in New York City.
With many retailers arguing that the current generation of video game consoles has been too long and has contributed to big losses, and even store closures in some case, Sony will hopefully make peace with all and give gamers and retailers alike something to be excited about.
As Nintendo learnt with the launch of the Wii U, PR is everything. Even when the console launched many people didn’t have a clue what a Wii U was, with some tabloids reporting that it was simply an add on for the current Wii console. It’s no wonder it isn’t selling well…
So how is Sony ensuring this isn’t the case for them? Well they’ve recently been running their mini-documentary which has so far focussed on all three of the previous PlayStation consoles and the various achievements each made in the world of video games.
This obviously isn’t enough for the company however as they are now “trolling” Nintendo with various ads such as the following which read:
#PlayStation 2013
PlayStation.com/Meeting2013
“Oh ,Yay, Another Mario Game.” Step Up To PlayStation 2/20”
Genius or immature? What do you make of Sony and their “hype-train” on the way to the PS4 announcement?
