South Park’s season 18 has been met with a positive reception by fans so far, and creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone’s Emmy-winning show has had a new preview released for its latest episode, “Grounded Vindaloop.”
With last week’s episode, “Freemium Isn’t Free,” heavily criticising microtransactions and free-to-play mobile apps, it seems that the series creators are now aiming to take a few swipes at the upcoming VR headset Oculus Rift in “Grounded Vindaloop” this week.
The 15-second preview features fan-favourite character Leopold “Butters” Stotch waking up dazed in a hospital, and after believing that he couldn’t be stabbed in virtual reality for a few seconds, it’s explained to him by the doctor that he was actually attacked by a hooker.
“Butters is convinced that he’s living in a virtual reality,” reads the synopsis of the episode. “When he suddenly goes rogue and wreaks havoc at home and all over South Park, everyone struggles to figure out what’s real.”
The new episode will air on November 12 at 10:00 P.M. ET/PT on Comedy Central.
