Square Enix revealed the fifth entry in the Star Ocean series in this month’s issue of Famitsu on Monday.
Square Enix previously released a teaser for the game, but the company officially announced Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness on Famitsu. Star Ocean: Integrity and Faithlessness will be releasing on the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 later this year in Japan. No word of a Western release has been given.
During an interview with the magazine, the game’s producer, Shuichi Kabayashi mentioned that “Star Ocean 5 is about bringing a sense of reassurance back to longtime fans, which is why the game’s logo is reminiscent of Star Ocean 3‘s.”
The game is being developed by Tri-Ace, like previous titles in the series. They have also worked on Resonance of Fate, Final Fantasy XIII-2 (and Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XIII), and Infinite Undiscovery.
There is no release date at the time of writing. If we hear more details on the game, we will keep you updated.
