If you have been waiting anxiously to change your name on StarCraft II then you are in luck as the team behind the hit PC game will be allowing users to change their name free of charge.
Originally, this was supposed to be a paid service similar to what Xbox Live forces upon users for 800 Microsoft Points but the service was deprioritized within the team which has ultimately led to it being unlikely implemented in the future.
In an official blog post, the StarCraft II team said;
“The fact that we didn’t keep you updated when we deprioritized the feature was a mistake, and we aim to do a much better job of keeping you informed in the future”.
So to prove their sorrow to you they are allowing, on this occasion, you to change your username for free.
To access the name change log into Account Management and choose the game license screen for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty and then a swift click of the “Character Name Change” button will make all of your dreams become a reality.
