Many Mega Man fans were thrilled to see the platform hero return in all his retro glory in the recent free-to-download Street Fighter X Mega Man, and now Capcom has announced that an updated version of the game will be released in 2013.
The updated version will apparently take care of known issues with the game, with Capcom Senior Community Manager Brett Elston telling The Mega Man Network,
“Given the tight dev window, we know there are a few rough edges left, even with a dozen people looking at this. To that end, we can say we’re working on a V2 that will release soon and hopefully address some of those known issues. It’s not adding content, but we’ve been reading responses and can “tighten up” a few things before the end of the year.”
Street Fighter X Mega Man, which sees Mega Man traversing side-scrolling levels and fighting Street Fighter characters such as Ryu and Blanka as end-of-level bosses, began life as a fan project but later saw official collaboration from Capcom in celebration of Mega Man’s 25th anniversary.
