Capcom has lifted the curtain on what they are working on for Street Fighter V and the updates that they will be coming out with in June.
They are working on a Story Expansion that is five chapters long and will run about 3 to 4 hours titled “A Shadow Falls,” it will be released at the end of June as free DLC.
The storyline takes place between the events of Street Fighter III and Street Fighter IV. This is the first time in the franchise’s long history where players will be able to have this type of cinematic experience.
The story is that of good versus evil, with the Shadaloo organization, World Warriors. Shadaloo sends out seven “Black Moons” that give M. Bison unthinkable power and encases the world in darkness. Seeing these moons appear, Ryu, Ken, and Chun-Li set out on an adventure. While doing so, they run into the World Warriors and set out to put an end to what is happening.
All six DLC characters will be playable in the story as well. Alex, Guile, Ibuki, Balrog, Urien, and Juri will all be available to players.
In other SFV news, gamers will earn “Fight Money” from completing the story and a harder difficulty will unlock once players finish the game on normal difficulty, which you can also earn extra Fight Money from:
- Normal Mode= 30,000 FM
- Extra Mode*= 50,000 FM
- TOTAL= 80,000 FM
Capcom will no longer be introducing Zenny to Street Fighter V as a real money currency option. From now on they will be using the PlayStation Store and Steam to carry out real money transactions. Fight Money will stay as the in-game currency that gamers will receive. However, they will allow players to outright buy Fight Money through said stores if they so choose.
Below are the Fight Money to real money equations:
- New Character – 100,000 = $ 5.99 / € 5.99
- New Stages – 70,000 = $ 3.99 / € 3.99
- Alternate Stages – 40,000 = $ 1.99 / € 1.99
- Story Costumes – 40,000 = $ 1.99 / € 1.99
- Premium Costumes – $ 3.99 / € 3.99
The premium Battle Costumes for all characters released so far will go on sale in June and will be available for purchase with real money only.
